BACK IN ACTION AT THE BOUTIQUE!

BHS Logo_crop

The season starts at the Boutique Hostal Salinas, Saturday 5th April

Galicia comes to Ibiza with the BHS’ new restaurant concept

Once Upon a Time Sunday Market goes weekly

(CAN FIX/ Ibiza/Thurs 3rd April 2014)

With Spring upon us and Ibiza’s high season around the next corner, those formidable folk at the Boutique Hostal Salinas have announced the first details of their plans for the months ahead, kicking off with their 2014 opening, this Saturday 5th April.

Following close on the heels of the hotel’s recent appearance in the Sunday Times’ list of Top 50 Mediterranean Beach Hotels (with a highly admirable number 10 position!), and as per every year, the BHS team have slogged long and hard over the winter with renovations and preparations to make this summer one to remember, with the introduction of not only a full event agenda but also a brand new restaurant concept and menu.

Lets start with the Opening Do. This Saturday from 2pm and the doors swing wide open with some of Ibiza’s beloved resident DJs lining up to welcome the season in style with, amongst other shenanigans, a live radio broadcast from 4-8pm on Ibiza Sonica 95.2fm (not to mention a live streaming on www.ibiza-sonica.com). Manhandling the decks throughout the day, We Love’s Big L sets standards high alongside Andy Baxter, Christian Len, Mark Canovas, Andy Wilson, David Phillips and Bruno from Ibiza.

On the culinary side of things, expect an insight into the hotel’s new menu, bringing a taste of Galicia to Ibiza’s shores- a marisquería serving the freshest fish and seafood and of course, for the carnivores, a selection of the finest meats on the market. This Saturday then, and the hotel’s owners are excited to introduce the two man team in charge of all things edible- Anxo Ares and José Manuel Pinaque – flown in especially from Santiago de Compostela in the aforementioned region of Northern Spain. Expect tongues to be wagging in all directions.

972545_10203070917914719_1990249082_n

Straight off the back of that and starting as they mean to go on, midday on Sunday 6th April and the hotel’s team are going back to the future with the return of last season’s success story- the Once Upon a Time Market, already confirmed as a weekly event and with a profusion of artisans, local designers and vintage sellers coming together to seamlessly fuse art, fashion and musictaking over the hotel grounds till the sun sets over Salinas. With Daisy Heartbreaker on the fine tune selection and cocktails and snacks served throughout the day, the Once Upon a Time events became a regular fixture in every discerning fashionista’s diary last summer- this season, the Boutique Hostal Salinas are taking it to the next level with some 40 stallholders already confirmed. Mooching round a market- it’s what Sundays were made for.

Now, those familiar with the Boutique Hostal Salinas will also recognise the name of the team’s sister bar, Lo Cura, in Ibiza port, by now famed as an institution and currently undergoing something of a respite due to its own renovations. Lo Cura Lounge, however, a spin off of the favoured watering hole, already featured regularly on the We Love…Space programme last summer, becoming a key party point amongst Ibiza locals and tourists alike. The good news is that Lo Cura Lounge is back- not only at Space Ibiza but also as a regular feature on the hotel’s own events calendar, under the loving care of its creator, David Phillips.

Phillips, who in addition is one of three masterminds of the entire Boutique Hostal Salinas concept alongside partners Duesi Wolfmeir and Anita Dey, had this to say on all of the above: “With all the wild revelations that Spring in Ibiza is currently unveiling, we want to keep on rocking it in our own way- as a hotel, restaurant, lounge and party venue along with regular jaunts to our own room at Space”.

BHS_LIGHTSBYNIGHT

And talking of parties, it’s Aries season in Ibiza and God knows, there are a fair few of those starry-eyed types floating about, so much so that it’s become a bit of a thing with the island’s groovy groovesters. It’s fitting therefore that the same David Phillips and his ladybelle, Daisy Heartbreaker, both celebrate their birthdays this month, with shindigs confirmed at the hotel on 9th April (Daisy) and 16th April (Dave). Also in the pipeline for the coming season, those Sunshine People are set for a regular reappearance but more details on that and a host of other events coming up next time.

Just one more thing- and it’s rather a biggie! Boutique Hostal Salinas have confirmed the release, in May 2014, of their first, and long overdue, musical representation- a 3CD compilation, out on Seamless Recordings with CDs 1 + 2 mixed by BHS’ own David Phillips. CD 1 will focus on the Salinas Lounge sound typical of the hotel, described by Phillips as a collection of  ‘low slung, dubby disco meets movie themes and indie torch anthems’ whilst CD2 dances down a different road and celebrates 10 glorious years of the Lo Cura Bar, hugely reminiscent of a night out at Lo Cura Lounge at We Love…Space. Prepare for a veritable ‘Backroom Heaven leaning heavily towards a misspent youth dancing to Electro, Disco, New Wave, Punk, Techno and House music’. The Lo Cura brand is often associated with a certain strain of Ibiza hedonism- and this CD is certainly indicative of that.

Onto Cd3 and step up the PBR Streetgang, dear friends of the BHS trio and ones who have adopted the hotel as their spiritual home from home over the last years. Hotter than hot plates on the current scene right now, PBR promise an extra special mix to round off this, the first Boutique Hostal Salinas compilation.

BHS_LOGO_JEROM

For now though, it’s all about getting those final wheels in motion for the start of the 2014 season and the countdown is on. With only days to go, the Boutique Hostal Salinas team are putting the finishing touches to the preparations, ready for the influx of hotel guests and visitors that are set to grace the place from now to October.

You are most cordially invited to join them this coming weekend, the first of their summer season 2014.

FRIDAYS ARE THE NEW THURSDAYS! ANTZ AT SACCA UPDATE!

Antz_Hirst_4Logos

ANTZ AT SACCA starting TONIGHT 16 Aug

Drinks, Dinner and Dance- in that order!

(FIX/IBIZA/16 AUG 2013)

There are certain things round here that definitely need to be changed and then, there are other things where the old adage, ‘If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it’ definitely applies. Anthony Antz Bryans’ current DJ residency at Sacca, formerly Aura, is a fine example. For that reason, as of TONIGHT, FRIDAY 16 AUG, you’ll find the island’s most respected private party DJ doing what it is he does best- kickstarting the island’s weekends in his own inimitable by way of a subtle and very harmonious shift back to Fridays from Thursdays for our man with the cans.

Long since associated with the highly reputable restaurant cum lounge bar on the Sant Joan road, having held his very successful Friday night DJ residency there since 2005, Antz is considered a part of the venue’s bricks and mortar foundation ever since those formative days, having helped place the destination location on the map for residents and visitors alike practically since its beginnings.

Now, with the restaurant/lounge bar under brand new management and with a brand new name and concept, Antz & Co are over the moon to announce that, after an initial first few weeks of taking over Thursday nights at Sacca’s Lounge Bar, Kuro, our main man is back behind the controls of the venue’s DJ booth this and every Friday till we tell you otherwise. filling the dancefloor to bursting with both the island’s top party people as well as Antz’ own impressive crew of international movers and shakers.

In keeping with Sacca’s sophisticated style, Antz’ sound is the perfect fit and this, coupled with his ability to read his crowd, makes him the DJ of choice for those looking for an after dinner drink and dance. But, lets not get carried away, this is no underground rave, no typical Ibiza club night. This is something else, something for the more discerning individual, and considering that Sacca is a high-end, Asian dining experience, with award-wining Australian chef Lex Hauser at the helm, and a menu that combines subtle Asian flavours alongside hand- picked superior Chinese, Thai and Japanese foods, there’s really no excuse not to make a night of it. With that in mind, we highly recommend you get your troops together, book a table and enjoy the meticulously prepared dishes on offer at Sacca.

Post-fine dining, or even during, and it would be rude not to take advantage of the fact that this summer, German Techno God and aficionado of all things Japanese, DJ and producer Richie Hawtin, has relocated his own Sake Bar to Sacca, giving clients the opportunity to indulge in the alcoholic beverage of choice in the Land of the Rising Sun. Arigatoo, Richie San.

(Oh! And did we mention the complimentary champagne for table bookings of 10+?!)

(Call SACCA to book, details below)

All in all, music to everybody’s ears, we wager…we’d love to see you there!

FREDDIE’S PUTS THE FUN INTO FUNDRAISER!

ANNUAL EVENT FOR MERCURY PHOENIX TRUST CONFIRMED FOR SUNDAY 1 SEPT AT IBIZA ROCKS HOUSE

BOY GEORGE HOSTS EVENING DEDICATED TO LANCE LOUD IN AID OF HEP-C TRUST, THURS 22 AUG

PLUS 7WALLACE, PLAY IT BY EAR, EL FABULOSO, MUSTACHIO AND IBIZA ROCKS AFTER-PARTIES

(FIX Ibiza/12 Aug 2013):

With Ibiza Rockin’ at full tilt right now, and the island zooming towards the middle of August, it’s always good to know that there’s another world away hidden from the usual midsummer night’s madness, a rock n roll refuge right up there in the San Antonio Hills- yup, it’s Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel. The legendary agro-rock hotel of choice is a place with its own special magic which, over the next weeks, hosts a plethora of events that, frankly, deserve a big, shiny medal for their diversity, solidarity and sheer fabulousness. Amongst them, a Pikes personal favourite- FREDDIE ROCKS IBIZA- which is back on Sunday 1 September, raising more funds for The Mercury Phoenix Trust in aid of HIV & AIDS patients.

Back for its third year, this is an event with particularly special significance for all at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel, dedicated to the hotel’s favourite former ambassador, Queen’s Freddie Mercury. The aim of the party is to not only celebrate what would have been the 67th birthday of the musical legend-in-leotards but also, to raise funds for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the organization set up by the remaining members of Queen after the sad demise of their frontman. The Mercury Phoenix Trust has been raising millions to fight AIDS worldwide and here at Ibiza Rocks House, we like to add our tuppence worth in honour of the great man whose hedonistic history with Pikes has already gone down in the Ibiza annals.

Freddie Rocks Ibiza_Flyer2013

Due to public demand, this year the fundraiser begins at lunchtime by the Pikes Pool, with Antz & Co in charge of providing the daytime soundtrack for Freddie Rocks Ibiza, setting the mood for the frivolity as the first Freddie Lookie-Likees start pulling up to the sun loungers.Throughout the afternoon and heading into the night, also on the decks, a line up of local and international DJs including the schamazing 2MercuryBJs, Doorly, Wall of Sound’s Mark Jones, Stray Kitten, Andy Carroll and Colin Peters, most of whom have formed part of the Freddie’s Brigade since its beginnings, and all lining up to pay homage through tuneage.

As per every Freddie Rocks Ibiza event, big, hairy moustaches and/or other related Freddie get-up is pretty much essential- you know we love a theme. Fake Freddie facial hair will be available for purchase on entry, money also going to the charity. Last year’s event managed to raise some 4000€ for the cause; lets see if we can’t top that on Sunday 1 September and do dear Freddie proud on his heavenly cloud.

Important to note, guests also have the option to grab a table and fill up on the Ibiza Rocks House famous Sunday Roast pre- getting their groove on. Between that and the Poolside Menu, perfect fodder for pre-Freddie-Frivolity.

OTHER EVENTS COMING UP in AUGUST at IBIZA ROCKS HOUSE AT PIKES HOTEL:

IDRIS ELBA presents 7WALLACE

Friday 16 & 23 Aug

Idris Elba

Right up there with Ibiza’s Coolest Parties of 2013, 7Wallace has proved to be the party of choice for anyone with half a brain and, if they’re lucky, a direct line to the event’s exclusive guest list. Four down, two more to go, so far the star of stage, screen and now, the Ibiza Rocks House DJ booth, Idris Elba, has taken Fridays and the Ibiza Rocks after-parties to a whole new level. Most recognised for his starring roles in mega-series Luther and The Wire, British actor Elba is also currently premiering his new blockbuster, Pacific Rim, around the globe, squeezing in slots on the red carpets between his six summer appearances at Pikes. With special surprise guests including Pete Tong, Elba proves that, apart from his skills in front of the camera, he sure knows how to throw a party.

Idris Elba said: “The 7 Wallace parties are intimate and understated. There’s no huge club, just a really cool house party vibe. Ibiza Rocks House is perfect- unique, charming, full of character and seeped in music history. I’ve never experienced anywhere like it. It’s a hidden gem in the hills, a place where magical moments just happen naturally and interesting people are drawn in…”

It certainly doesn’t take much detective work to deduce that 7Wallace at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes is the party of choice. Case Closed.

EL FABULOSO 3rd BIRTHDAY

SAT 17 AUG, FROM 5PM

1001088_10152454162020616_1437678988_n

Another summer special returns to the hotel in the next days, Spain’s notoriously naughty EL FABULOSO shindig, celebrating it’s 3rdanniversary on the White Island and brought to us by a good time girl with old skool class- Silvia Superstar and her fabulous crew. Silvia is, in her own right, a bit of a household name over on the mainland, as singer and musician, model, promoter and all round rock chick who plays an important role in Madrid’s music scene and also, pops up occasionally on MTV’s Alaska & Mario, a reality programme based on the life of one of Spain’s most influential female musicians and front woman of Fangoria, Olvido Gara Jova aka Alaska.

DJs joining la Superstar in the DJ booth this Saturday 17 Aug are confirmed as Carlos Areces (reputed Spanish actor who has recently starred in the films of both Almodovar and Alex de la Iglesia), Vinila von Bismarck (Spanish Burlesque Queen, singer and DJ) and Ibiza’s own Colin Peters (rockmeister extraordinaire, Ibiza Rocks resident DJ and the island’s sharpest dresser). If this year is anything like previous editions of El Fabuloso, we are in for one blast of a day/night. Spain is different- and so are its party people…

Entrance to this event is by way of guest list only, by sending names and contact details to the El Fabuloso Facebook page:

THURS 22 AUG, 7.30pm

543795_484723198280810_306056511_n

Back on the solidarity tip, Ibiza Rocks House is delighted to welcome music industry icon Boy George to Ibiza Rocks House on Thursday 22 August to present a multi-media insight into the life and times of  American TV star and underground hero Lance Loud. The aim of the event is to celebrate Loud’s ife whilst simultaneously raising awareness of HIV and hepatitis C co-infection, of which Lance Loud eventually died. The screening of Lance Loud! A Death in An American Family (2003, 60 min) is well worth a watch and will be followed by a discussion with Hepatitis C Trust patron Boy George. Reinforcing the notion of ‘what not to share’, this event touches  on a serious subject whilst keeping it very, very real.

ANTZ, CRAZY GOLF TALES & EASTER FUNDRAISING

Antz_Hirst_4Logos

DJ ANTZ BACK FROM MIAMI TO PLAY AT AECC FUNDRAISER

HIDDEN’S EASTER FAYRE TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY, 30TH MARCH

(FIX IBIZA/25th MARCH 2013):  DJ, music producer, fundraiser and, in a recent revelation, golfer, Ibiza resident Anthony Bryans- ANTZ– is a man with very many talents. In the latest of a long list of his moves and shakes, the London born DJ is once again behind the fundraiser for the local branch of the Spanish Cancer Association (AECC), flying in from Miami especially for the event at Hidden Bar, Ibiza, on Saturday 30th March 2013.

In a winter that has seen Antz mostly locked in a studio ear-deep in a very special music collaboration in full swing (more details soon…), Bryans has also been involved in raising the profile of the AECC through his continuing voluntary work with the association, in the form of a number of fundraising initiatives including this, the Easter Fayre in Cala San Vicente, from 12pm-6pm.

Flying straight in from his visit to Miami, where his activities included a few rounds of golf with former racing driver and founder and owner of Jordan Grand Prix, Eddie Jordan, in a game organised by no less than World Number One and a two-time major champion golfer, Rory McIlroy MBE, Antz decided to put the golf clubs down, leave the Miami Music Conference to its own devices and fly back in order to be present at the event at Hidden, arriving back on the island just in the nick of time to DJ at the Easter Fayre.

Antz, who himself kicked cancer firmly to the kerb several years ago, first became involved with raising awareness of the local AECC association a year ago, through a meeting arranged by FIX Ibiza’s Jillian Canney with the Ibiza & Formentera branch of the AECC’s Vice-President Sue Mari. Since then, momentus has grown with other future efforts for the AECC including the upcoming 1st Ibiza Charity Polo Cup organised by local company, Ibiza Delivers.

The 2nd AECC fundraiser at Hidden Bar, Ibiza – An Afternoon of Fun, Fundraising and Cocktails.

hidden_BC_front_crop

‘Hidden’– literally, in the bay of Cala San Vicente– is the perfect location for a fundraiser of this nature. Evoking memories of Alice in Wonderland’s charming quaint dreamland, weathered bunting and china cups amongst the giant chess pieces and crazy golf course, organisers plan an Easter Fayre with definite references to the ideas and ideals of a good old traditional Easter Fayre.

Bring and Buy stalls, Arts & Crafts, Raffle, Tombola, Crazy Golf, Easter Egg hunt, Easter Bonnet competition, face-painting- just some of the activities in store on Easter Saturday,

Other Easter treats include Hot Cross buns and Easter cakes, plus a selection of cocktails from acclaimed mixologist Chris Edwardes.

In the kitchen: Michael Arthur and Pedro Cervero.

AN ECUMENICAL MATTER FOR ST.PATRICKS DAY

733751_10152605631845123_500043563_nTHE 1ST FATHER TED FEST TO TAKE PLACE AT FATHER JACKS IRISH PUB

‘NUNS &PRIESTS’ SET FOR THE ST.PATRICKS SHENANIGANS ON

SUNDAY 17TH MARCH

(FIX/IBIZA//15TH MAR 2013) On an island like Ibiza, where, unlike many other parts of the world, lets face it, there aren’t actually that many Irish emigrants or Irish pubs for that matter, and what with one half of FIX IBIZA being a pure green-blood, we decided it would only be right to throw a petite shindig on ST.PATRICKS DAY for all us Irish and Wannabe Irish on our most important day of the year and also, our biggest excuse to get suckin’ on the aul’ diesel…Sunday 17th March is the big, green day of choice.

We’ve chosen probably the only Irish pub open on the island this Sunday, FATHER JACKS, in Figueretas as the location for this, the first Father Ted Fest on the island, combining our love of St.Paddy’s with our love of all things Craggy Island. The event will be a homage to Fathers Ted, Dougal and of course, dear old Jack, and of course, to the late, great Dermot Morgan, creator and star of the hilarious TV series, who died whilst filming the last episode of Father Ted, back in 1998. God Rest Him…

The party will pretty much be a daylong affair and one for all the family, and since the pub opens at 10am till 3am, there’s plenty of time to nip in for a pint of the old Gee-Gee throughout the course of the day.

In keeping with the Craggy Island spirit, we plan a number of activities throughout the course of the Ted Fest including:

  • The Lovely Girls Competition
  • The Sheep Throwing Challenge
  • The Confessional Box
  • The Parish Hall Céilidh
  • A Quick Pray

and more stuff and nonsense as it occurs to us…

GETTING INTO THE SWING ALREADY! SISTERS LEANNE & HAYLEY

And the there’s the music…and a total coup for the Ted Fest, as we are proud to present, in their premier gig on the island, THE FOLKIN’ HOBOS! The recently formed three piece composed of Angie Smith, Joan Espinosa Molina and Aurelio XXX promise a musical medley of folk, rock n roll, country and a few Oirish diddies thrown in to mark the occasion and will grace our modest stage from 8pm.You don’t want to miss this one!

There’ll also be plenty more ceol agus craic, Irish Stew throughout the day, a bit of football for the boys in the afternoon and of course, Mrs. Doyle will be on hand all day with her infamous unending pot of tea and huge plate of sandwiches…

ROUGH SCHEDULE:

10AM: OPEN!

12PM: GET THE STEWS ON…

2.30PM: SUNDERLAND VS NORWICH

5.00PM: CHELSEA VS WEST HAM

7PM: GATHERING OF THE CLERICS

8PM- 8.30PM: THE FOLKIN’ HOBOS MAKE THEIR DEBUT

8.30PM: SHEEP THROWING CHALLENGE//CONFESSIONS//A QUICK PRAY

9.30-10.15PM: THE FOLKIN’ HOBOS

10.30PM: THE LOVELY GIRLS COMPETITION

11PM: TIME FOR A CEILIDH

12AM: DRINKING, SINGING, DANCING, LAUGHING, CRYING, NO FIGHTING!

DRESS CODE! This is important. Basically, it’s all about the nuns and the priests…we want to see plenty of each…and if there are any bishops in the house, do come on down…Think of it like a little convention…

If you can’t manage that, then try to look at least a bit like a Craggy Island Resident or just come dressed in green and you’ll be laughing…

STRAY KITTEN COMES HOME…AND GETS READY TO RUMBLE

60063_449147585148727_325422832_n

Local girl Jillian Canney, goes back to her roots to DJ at The Rumble Club, Sandinos on New Years Eve

Canney, born and bred in Derry, has been a resident in Ibiza since 1997, where she DJs under the aka of Stray Kitten

(29th Dec2012/Derry/Fix Ibiza)
You can take the girl out of Derry but you definitely can’t take the Derry out of the girl. Wise words, and ones firmly backed by local woman, Jillian Canney, as she prepares for her DJ debut at city-centre watering hole, Sandinos, this Monday night, New Years Eve, as part of the line up at The Rumble Club, a night dedicated to good old rock n roll.

Under her DJ alter ego of Stray Kitten, Canney, who has been a full-time resident in the music mecca of Ibiza since 1997, plans to see in the New Year back in her home town with a soundtrack that can only be described as a blast to the past as we head to the future.

Having twisted some arms earlier in the year to join the event’s DJ line up, alongside the club’s main dudes, DJs, promoters and local musicians Todd Gfeller and Danny McGeady (aka Hot Rod Todd and Beatnik Dan), Canney says she can’t wait to jive her way into the New Year, “Coming back home from Ibiza for Christmas just got even better; I’ve been wanting to play at The Rumble Club for ages so getting the chance to do it for New Years Eve is like an extra wee Christmas Box”.

The NYE event is the fifth such gathering organised by Gfeller and McGeady, who claim that The Rumble Club came about through “their desperate search for musical kicks”. Their music policy-  “the choicest slices from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s: the hottest jump jazz, rarest rockabilly, swinginest surf, deepest soul, good ol’ rock and roll and the dirtiest blues this side of the muddy Mississippi”- is just up the Stray Kitten’s street then.

Back in the Balearics, with her PR&Events Agency- FIX IBIZA- heading into its 6th year, Canney is responsible for such events as the Rock n Mola Retro Festival, as well as handling international PR for music brands including Ibiza Rocks, the live music phenomenon that has changed the face of Ibiza and its musical inclination since it’s conception back in 2005.

As an aside, Jillian’s grandfather, Patrick Canney, was a prominent figure in Derry’s music scene throughout the showband days, with the Patrick Canney Orchestra and The Derritones amongst his musical credits.

But back to the present and here’s to the future- rockin’ and rollin’ into 2013 at:

VAMPIN’ IT UP! Halloween at Ibiza Rocks House

RAISING HELL AT THE HOUSE ON THE HILL

IBIZA ROCKS HOUSE SET TO HOST HORRIFIC HALLOWEEN HOOLEY ON WEDS 31ST OCTOBER , FROM 10pm

DOOR CHARGE OF 10€ INCLUDES PUMPKIN SOUP, A TRICK OR TREAT, A GOBLET OF WITCHES BREW AND A NAUGHTY NIGHT OF FREAKY FUN, SCARY STORIES, MONSTER MUSIC AND DEVILISH DANCING

DJS COLIN PETERS, STRAY KITTEN, LUIS MARTIN & MAGICAL MYSTERY GUESTS PROVIDING THE TERRORIFIC TUNES

Halloween is nearly here- and in our book, that simply screams party! So, it seems only fitting that we transform Ibiza Rocks House into a Haunted House on the Hill and fill it with our favourite boys and ghouls for a night of bloody good fun…Get your gore on for VAMP!

Here’s the cunning plan:

We’ll kick off the vamptastic plan at 10pm by inviting you to a scrummy bowl of homemade pumpkin soup to line our little zombie bellies, whilst on the big screen, expect Rocky Horror, Teen Wolf, Lost Boys, Nightmare on Elm Street and other stuff to make you shiver…

After that preliminary spooking, it’s a sup from the gnarly witch’s tit for all who dare…our special magic potion, carefully concocted by senior members of the coven, sure to get the blood flowing in all the right places. Just right for fright night frolics…

Next up, take a wander through the zombie zone, delve into the trick or treat glory hole, attempt to bob an apple from the bloodbath; just some of the spooky surprises we’re planning amongst the Halloween games.

Of course, it goes without saying that we want you to shake your old bones in Freddie (Kruger)’s Bar and so, providing the scary soundtrack, DJs Colin Peters and Stray Kitten will be joined by some magical mystery guests…

As far as dress code, it’s a no-brainer. It’s Halloween. Think vampires, werewolves, faeries, witches, ghouls, ghosts, zombies, monsters, mynaeds, shape shifters, spooks, blood, gore, guts, spiders, spells and supernaturals- you get the idea- all the stuff that Halloween is made of! But there are no limits- as long as you’ve made an effort, that’s the spirit and special spooky souvenirs will be presented to the best of the lot..

Getting In:

10€ in advance/on the door includes your pumpkin soup, your trick or treat, a goblet of witches brew and a Halloween you won’t forget in a hurry.

Places are limited so do confirm if possible…

BIRTHDAY BOY ANTZ PULLS A TRIPLE WHAMMY!

THIS WEEKEND 12-14th OCTOBER, ANTZ @ AURA/IBIZA ROCKS HOUSE/AMANTE

Just when you thought it was safe to put away your disco boots for another season, DJ ANTZ has a plan in store this weekend that, quite simply, can only be described as One Big Fat Birthday Blowout.

As one of the island’s most respected DJs, AntZ has done nothing if not surpassed himself this summer in Ibiza, not only with his weekly residencies at Ibiza Rocks House and Aura but also the vast number of private bookings and international gigs.

This weekend though, and there’s an extra cause for merriment as the main man celebrates one more year of his amazing life. One weekend, three chances to let it all hang out on the dancefloor to the tunes lovingly provided by the birthday boy.

Here’s the plan. First stop, Aura. Friday Night. After last weekend’s awesome End of Summer shenanigans at AURA, the doors are back open for Autumn meaning that our AntZ is back in action every Friday through October. Yay!

On to Sunday, and this is where it gets even more interesting…

First up, it’s a fond farewell for another season to Antz’s signature event at IBIZA ROCKS HOUSE at Pikes Hotel. ‘PLAY IT BY EAR’ has been as staple a part of the island’s diet as the roast dinner that’s served up at the hotel every Sunday this summer. Joining Antz this week behind the decks, PIBE Resident Jon Sa Trinxa and as a very special treat, straight in from San Agustin, proper Spancunian and DJ extraordinaire Andy Wilson(Ibiza Sonica)- a man who knows the meaning of the Balearic Beat better than most. This IS the place to be. And you have one more chance to be there…

A bit later on that day, as the sun sets on San Antonio, it’s straight off to AMANTE for the next part of the party plan, where ANTZ gets back to work alongside the likes of other great names including Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay. Mark our words, this is set to be a monumental end to another great season at Amante.

Only one more thing to say then, really and that’s ‘Happy Birthday, Antz!’
